Deep Hanging Out – Notes for a Symposium film research with Juliette Joffé
After facilitating two Loverynth’s and one research format that we experimented within the Keerpunt high school, we decided to move to a new phase of the planned film research.
We started a collaboration with KVS that welcomed us in one of its big rehearsal studios which served as a perfect setting for implementing our earlier format of Deep Hanging Out, more intimate and in this specific case intentionally intergenerational where participants were invited to freely share thoughts, stories and feelings on contemporary love from personal, collective and political perspective. These conditions together created an open and empathetic space, allowing the unexpected to organically emerge according to the aesthetic that was decided upon, together with our collaborator on this project.
All was successfully filmed and served as the final phase of our film research plan supported in this case also by VAF development grant and the Mountain View production house together with the filmmaker Juliette Joffé.
