Deep Hanging Out – Eostre’s Embrace – an alternative Easter celebration
Deep Hanging Out is a recurrent and participatory event of School of Love dedicated to co-learning and to performing love practices.
At this time of the year, we will gather for an an alternative celebration of the ancient tradition of Easter.
What is there to celebrate today, with such a broken heart
From violence, injustice and a world that turned hard?
When we realise that the tools we have don’t protect us anymore
That what we know cannot make us smarter
That the ideas we posses take us nowhere
And the borders we built don’t define us any longer
We want to honor celebrations as a survival tool
That allows staying connected to our human capacity of joy
To generate the dose of joy that keeps us active, in movement.
SOL invites you to reapropriate this Easter festivity with us, as a dedication to the cycle of dying, death, rebirth and maturity.
To celebrate how spring dresses us all with new looks and energies, but to remember that there is no dressing up without striping ourselves of what we just wore, and without the risk of loosing the skin that protected what we were before.
Through collective reflection, rituals, readings and performances, we will search for the pleasure in changing our skin, in leaving dead cells, old struggles and stiff identities behind, in order to emerge anew.
People, snakes, eggs, chickens and movement will be leading us through this journey.
