A public event – Togethermess & Kin care: In the Spirit of the Beguines

Join us for a special evening of reflection and dialogue with Rita Fenendael (beguine) and Pauline Roque (filmmaker), as they present how the ancient tradition of the beguines can inspire new ways of living care, solidarity, and community today.
Together, we’ll journey through this feminine world—past and present—asking:
How and under what circumstances did the historical beguines gradually come together?
How did they live out care and togetherness among themselves and with others?
And how do today’s beguines continue this “tradition,” while renewing and adapting it to the contemporary world?
The evening will unfold as a participatory dialogue featuring: filmed testimonies from contemporary beguinages, historical insights, poetic and mystical texts by medieval women and a filmed glimpse of an agape, an ancient Christian ritual brought back to life today.
Rita and Pauline will also share personal experiences from their own spiritual and healing paths—moments of searching for meaning and connection, within themselves and with others.
