Deep Hanging Out – Celebrating All Souls’ Day – Rave with the dead
At this dark and violent time , when loss touches us all, we wish to create a space where these insurmountable emotions can be processed collectively.
On all souls’ day, we invite you for a ritualistic gathering to connect with the dead and to host death among us.
Even if accompanied by sadness, it will be a celebration. A moment that shines, where anxiety and despair can transform into sensorial connectivity.
Inspired by diverse traditions, this performative celebration questioned linear concepts of time and Western separations between life and death. The event addressed themes of mourning, remembrance and the presence of absence, responding directly to the contemporary global context.
Through this celebration SOL and the collaborators Jonny Haway (musician) and Ana Edwards (filmaker) created an inclusive space for collective reflection on death as a shared human condition. This edition confirmed DHO’s potential to hold large-scale communal rituals grounded in care and attentiveness.
